Area health care needs are met by the Providence/Health System and the
Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Area events and festivals include the Britt Festival, the Annual
Multicultural Fair, the Medford Jazz Jubilee and the Oregon
Shakespeare Festival.
There are 5 historic covered bridges in the Medford area,
including the Eagle Point and Wimer bridges. The Wimer Bridge is the only
covered bridge in Jackson County that is open to vehicles. Its 85-ft span
crosses Evans Creek, and it is located in the center of Wimer. Records show a
bridge at this site as early as 1892 but the current bridge has been restored
several times.
Other attractions include the historic Medford Railroad Park,
which features a vintage Medford Corporation logging train and other rolling
stock. You'll also enjoy visiting Harry and David's Country Store, an outlet
store for the famous gift and produce mail order company. It is a mile south of
Medford, and is one of the world's largest shippers of fruit and food gifts.
Another favorite stop for visitors is the 43,000 sq ft Jackson and Perkins Test
and Display Gardens. Although most of the roses are grown in California, they
are packed and shipped from Medford. |
